Manuel Leunda was
introduced to me as a terrific dog trainer as I was being walked down
the street by my two dogs, trying to stop them from tugging and pulling.
I knew I needed to do something about their behavior, so we met and
set specific training goals and a timeframe for meeting these goals.
A month or so later, I was the one walking them around the block.
The dogs had very different personalities - one a bit timid, one very
head-strong - and Manuel adapted the training to each dog. And he
taught me how to work with the dogs, and how to deal with the added
challenge of handling two dogs at once. Manuel also worked with my
children and my husband. Again, the training was adapted to fit our
family - we wanted to be involved, so we were taught the proper way
to do it.
When we reached our training goals, Manuel gave me the option of stopping
or continuing to other levels of training. Frankly, I enjoyed the
training sessions as much as the dogs did, so I chose to continue.
But I never felt pressured to keep going; it was my choice.
Our experiences with las lunas went beyond training. Every
other Friday, a van came by our house, and the dogs were at the door
instantly. |

It was the las lunas van, coming to pick them up for doggy
day, a day in the country where they could run freely, play
with other dogs, have a bath and come home tired and happy.
Because we always had someone living in our house, we didn't board
the dogs during our vacations. But we did board them at las lunas
pet inn on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve for several years,
since the fireworks around us really disturbed them. We knew they
were safe and well-cared-for, and far from the frightening sounds
of the fireworks.
From delivering dog food when we needed it, to helping us find a
vet, to solving long-rooted behavioral problems, Manuel and his
staff were continually involved with our dogs and our family. When
we (sadly) had to move from Argentina, it was a relief to know that
las lunas would handle the paperwork and the transportation
of our dogs from the house to the airport. We left the country effortlessly,
with the papers all in order, and the dogs delivered to us on time
and happy. Luckily for them, they didn't know they were saying good-bye...
