Hi, I am a Dutchman
living with the family (wife, three children) in Argentina since 1998
and owner of Spike, a three year old Siberian Huskey. Since Spike
was the first dog of our family, we were totally inexperienced in
all the aspects of having a dog.
Therefore, when Spike was 8 months old I started training him at las
lunas dog school. What started as a necessity, in the end turned
into a hobby. My first intention was to do only the basic training
but when I was proposed to extend the menu with commands like retrieve,
jump, roll, crawl, zigzag and so on, we became even more enthousiatic.
I started to understand that learning never stops in a dog´s
life and that learning new things keeps the dog (and his boss) alert
and happy.
One of the problems we had when Spike was young was his interaction
with other dogs. Since Spike always walked on the leash (Huskies tend
to run away) he was always overexcited meeting other dogs, pulling
hard on the leash. Manuel suggested that Spike would benefit from
socialising with other dogs in a controlled end enclosed environment.
We decided to add this element in the education of Spike: doggy
day. After some days with other dogs we already noticed a clear
difference, Spike being much more quiet when meeting other dogs while
we were walking.

Now every Thursday, Spike gets excited to go. When he returns in
the evening, the only thing he wants to do is eat and sleep. I am
convinced that this weekly exercise contributes to Spikes health
and physical condition.
Since we are a Dutch family we have a 6 week holiday brake to visit
our home country. During our holidays, Spike stays at las lunas
pet inn, located in a campo in Pilar. After our last holidays,
Spike returned home in good health, stronger than ever by running
around every day during 6 weeks with his friends.
Soon we will be leaving the country and we will make use of other
service that las lunas offers: dog travel, a door
to door delivery for Spike. We will be living in Greece as from
next month and las lunas will be taking Spike from Argentina
to Athens by plane, and will be accompanied during the trip. From
all the alternatives this is the most convenient and the most economic,
a combination you do not find too often.
Looking back at more than two years of training with las lunas,
I can say that it has been very satisfactory. Not everything was
easy, but with the right attitude and effort we more than accomplished
the goals we had set: we have a lovely dog who understands us and
knows his place in the family, and Spike has a confident boss who
understands him and knows how to teach him new tricks.
